Amethyst Pendant 6

Description

Jake dug up this piece of banded Amethyst at the Panorama mine outside of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, a regular stop for Jake on his travels.  The mine allows you to dig in its tailings for a fee, and if you get there when a new load of tailings come out of the mine you can find some very nice specimen pieces.  Jake likes to get a few specimen pieces, but also looks for nice solid pieces of amethyst that he can cut into jewelry, like this one.  This stone has a deep purple color which a white band running through it.  The stone is set with sterling silver wire framing the back with prongs to hold the stone in place.
