Description
This is a piece of fire opal that came from a rock that Jake dug up in one of his visits to the Spencer Opal mine in Idaho. The mine owner there allows the public to dig in the tailings for a fee. This is one of Jake’s favorite places to visit, as you can find a lot of nice stones there, and every once in a while, a really spectacular stone. This stone has flecks of red, green and purple fire in it as it turns in the light. As with most fire opals, its impossible to capture the full beauty of the stone in a photograph. This stone is set in sterling silver with a full silver back, with a fancy sterling bezel. The stone has been treated with a clear resin to stabilize it.
