This is a large piece of Andamooka Opal from Australia This type of opal needs a special treatment to bring out the color. This stone has amazing colors of green, blue and purple as it turns in the light. The back is unfinished. The setting is sterling silver square wire around the edge of the stone with sterling prongs to hold the stone in place, topped with a sterling bail.
