A Magnificent Stone!
Description
Here is an incredible piece of fire opal that Jake found on his last trip to the Spencer Mine in Idaho. The Spencer mine is one of the few places in the world where the public can dig for precious fire opal, and Jake makes a point of going there every year. He usually finds a few nice pieces on each visit, but once in a while he finds something really special, like this piece. It’s a large piece of fire opal loaded with color bordered on one side by a tan piece of the matrix rock. The setting is sterling silver with a fine silver fancy bezel encircled by intertwined pieces of twisted copper and silver wire and topped by a sterling bail.
